The format

- Hybrid, traditional questions plus MMI style questions
- Structure
- A combination of traditional interview questions and MMI style questions. MMI style items give 2 minutes to read and 6 minutes to answer, with possible follow-up prompts. The published assessment areas are communication, teamwork, reflection, conflict resolution, empathy, responsibility, initiative, problem solving, prioritisation and organisation.
- Delivery
- By videoconference.
Three mistakes that cost people here
- Preparing for one format. Alberta runs both, and switching register mid-interview is the thing people fumble.
- Ignoring the published assessment areas. Alberta names ten of them, which is effectively a marking scheme handed to you.
- Not practising at 2 and 6. It is the exact tempo, and it is longer than most people rehearse.
One practice station in this style
A friend in your program is clearly not sleeping and you have noticed they have been drinking before class. They ask you not to tell anyone. What do you do?
